Who Can Use the Library?

The library is open to the Georgetown community, including Law Center students, faculty and staff, members of the Georgetown University Community, law students from other schools, members of the Public Patron and Friends of the Library programs, Law Center alumni, visiting scholars, and members of the public who seek access to Unites States government documents acquired by the library through its membership in the Federal Depository Library program.

What Can You Do in The Library?

Certain policies guide the use of the library to ensure fair and effective access to its resources. These policies cover borrowing privileges, food and drink in the library, the use of cell phones, PCs and laptops, and study rooms and carrels. What Can the Library Do For You?

The library offers a wide array of services and resources for its patrons. We provide access to reserve materials, photocopying facilities, printing and downloading functions, reference assistance, individual research consultations, interlibrary loan, and research classes. Visiting the Library

When is the Library Open?

During the academic year, the library is open from 8 AM until midnight on weekdays, 9 AM to 10 PM on Saturdays and 10 AM until midnight on Sundays. During the summer, the library is open from 9 AM to 10 PM on weekdays, 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturdays and 2 PM to 10 PM on Sundays. Please review this additional information on the operating hours for the Reading Room, the Computer Learning Center, the Reference Desk, and the Circulation Desk before visiting the library.

How Do You Get to the Library?

The Library is located at 111 G Street, NW, near Union Station and Judiciary Square metro stops. Follow these links to view floor plans of and directions to the Law Library.

A shuttle bus runs between the Georgetown Main Campus and the Law Center. It stops at the Levey Center on Main Campus and at the 2nd Street entrance of the Law Center.

Supporting the Library

The Georgetown University Law Library has two programs, Public Patrons and Friends of the Library, that offer the opportunity to join the library's mission of supporting scholarship, excellence in service and leading in technology.
