New Location Codes in the Library Catalog

Based upon a suggestion by students in the Spring Survey, we have changed the location codes in the Library Catalog, GULLiver. The codes now identify which library location has the item. Items in the Williams Library start with WMS and Items in the Wolff Library start with INTL. If you're not sure where a location is within the library, simply click on the location code in the catalog to get a map.

You'll also soon start seeing the location WMS STACKS. We've decided to call the 3rd through 5th floor of the Library the "stacks." For now, call numbers A through KF 250 are on the 5th floor and KF251 to Z are on the 4th floor. We will be posting signs in the elevators and on each floor as these numbers change. (Remember that we're shifting books around in the library over the next few weeks).

As always, if you can't find what you're looking for, stop by the circulation or reference desks. We're happy to help.

New Book on the Law of Downsizing

Reductions in Force in Employment Law covers all the law applicable to "Reductions in Force" (aka downsizing and lay-offs). According to the book description "the analysis is presented in chronological order from the preliminary issues that arise when a workforce reduction is being planned, to the issues arising in implementation and in the wake of the actual reductions. Topics covered run the gamut from discrimination law issues; ERISA and non-ERISA benefit plan issues; tax considerations, including a discussion of Tax Code Section 409A, changing how certain severance arrangements may be taxed to U.S. recipients; to litigation trends."

This book is currently available at the library. To check out what other books the library has purchased recently, visit our new acquisitions list.
