Research in the Law Library

Research in the Law LibraryThe Edward Bennett Williams Law Library offers a range of resources to facilitate research. Our online catalog, GULLiver, is the gateway to the million-plus volumes in the collection. The library's website is, similarly, a gateway to the riches of law-related materials on the Internet as well as to the many databases to which we subscribe. (It is important to note that many of these databases may not be available remotely, but members of the Friends program can use all but a few (e.g. Lexis and Westlaw) onsite at the library. Please come and visit us and introduce yourself as a member of the Friends program.) The Reference Department is staffed with librarians trained to guide you to the information you need in a professional and courteous manner. Research Guides and Tutorials in both online and print forms walk you through specific research scenarios. Our Special Collections Department will work with you to locate rare, archival and historical materials, including the Lord Eldon collection and the Oliver Gasch papers.
