Business and
Human Rights website is the single best site on economic
rights and related topics. It is an extensive collection of
links to websites, articles and organizations related to business
and human rights. The links are organized by country, sector,
issue, organization, and several other categories. The site
is updated frequently, and the links are kept current.
Economic,
Social and Cultural Rights page on the United Nations
High Commissioner for Human Rights website links to documents
relevant to economic, social and cultural rights, the Committee
on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, related human rights
instruments, and related topics, including extreme poverty,
income distribution, and the right to food.
PovertyNet
is a World Bank web site developed to provide resources on
understanding and alleviating poverty. Some of the excellent
resources include a library of papers and reports from the
World Bank, data on poverty (see the Poverty
Monitoring Database), the World Development Report, a
web guide, and Voices
of the Poor, which consists of three global studies (available
in full-text) on poverty and the experiences of 60,000 poor
women and men.
United Nations
Global Compact is a cooperative effort by the High Commissioner
for Human Rights, the International Labour Organization, and
the United Nations Environmental Programme to encourage corporations
to uphold nine principles in the areas of human rights, labor
and the environment. The site includes the text of the principles,
tools for implementation, and links to other resources such
as the ILO's Business
and Social Initiatives Database.
