Reference Desks

United States research assistance is provided at the Reference Desk located in the Robert L. Oakley Reading Room on the second floor of the Edward Bennett Williams Law Library. When classes are in session, the Reference Desk is open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday; and 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Between academic sessions and during the summer, there is no evening or weekend reference service. You may also request a U.S. research consultation with a reference librarian for assistance with in-depth research such as paper preparation, or submit a reference question via email, by phone, or through Live Help online chat during Reference Desk hours.

International and foreign research assistance is offered on the lower level (third floor) of the John Wolff International & Comparative Law Library. During the academic year, the International Reference Desk is open from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Between academic sessions and during the summer, there is no evening reference service. Librarians specializing in international and foreign law are available for reference assistance, individual research consultations on international topics, class presentations, and other instructional support activities.
