Collection Services

What We Do

The staff of the Collection Services departments support the teaching, research and scholarship of the Georgetown University Law Center by acquiring material or obtaining access to it, by maintaining the collection in a current and orderly state, by preserving it, and by providing bibliographic control over legal and law-related information in all formats.

Collection Services staff maintain the library's online catalog and the electronic journal finder system.

As a service to the citizens of the District of Columbia, the decisions of the Mayor's Agent for Historic Preservation are published on the library's website.

Upon request, staff members in these departments will check on book orders, route serials to faculty, and rush catalog books. They also publish a New Acquisitions list.
