What We Do . . .

The Special Collections and Archives Department maintains the Library's rare, historical and archival materials and assists researchers in using these materials. All materials listed in the Library's catalog with a location of SPEC COLL are in this department, and may only be used in the Rare Book Reading Room, located on the west side of the main Reading Room.

We ask that all patrons make an initial appointment when starting their research, in order to take full advantage of the research and reference assistance available through Special Collections. Appointments outside our normal hours are available upon request. To request an appointment, please fill out this form.
