State courts, legislatures and agencies create laws that govern conduct within their jurisdictions. Some state laws parallel those of the federal government while others regulate areas specifically reserved to the states by the Constitution. The links below are to general state research sites.
Local and municipal governments also generate ordinances that control such issues as zoning, building, transportation, historic preservation and other issues. The following collection of links will get you started on local research, but please also consider a search of GULLiver to locate specific local and municipal codes and treatises.
