Student Admin Assistant Job Description


The International Department is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the international collection and for providing customer service to library patrons. Student assistants are hired and trained to assist the staff with various tasks in support of these goals. Students with a demonstrated aptitude for customer service will also receive training in order to be able to assist at the circulation desk.

 Duties
1. Filing looseleaf materials
2. Retrieving problem materials from the collection for further action by staff
3. Re-shelving materials
4. Reviewing the order of materials on the shelf for proper location
5. Data entry
6. Photocopying, general office support, and other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required: eligible for the Federal Work Study program
Required: accuracy and attention to detail
Required: good typing and computer skills
Desirable: foreign language ability in Spanish, German, or French
Desirable: ability to search catalog and understand records
Desirable: knowledge of legal publications
