tutorials > definitions > popular name table Popular name tableAn index to cases or statutes by their popular name. For example, using the Popular Name Table, you can look up the "Motor Voter" law of 1993 without knowing its official name (National Voter Registration Act of 1993). The Popular Name Table will give you citations to both the U.S. Code and Statutes at Large. All three versions of the U.S. Code include a popular name table. (Note that in West's U.S.C.A. the Popular Name Table is at the end of the general A-Z subject index.) Shepard's publishes a three-volume set entitled Acts and Cases by Popular Names (Reference Desk & 4th floor; call number: KF80 .S5). |
